Frequently at the end of a sentence when I issue the full stop command, directly after the full stop a space and the letter i appears in upper case. When I try to delete it, it changes to a lower case i and sometimes is difficult to delete even with the keyboard.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Make sure you correct it!

So if its: " My life is so exciting. I "

Then Say " Correct Full-stop I"

then put a " . " in the corrections box.

Choose 1 or OK

Then try it.

That doesnt work. Then in the Dragon Bar: WORDS - TRAIN WORDS-

Put in " fullstop"

Train and say it.

That should put that away. ;)

Otherwise try moving you mic so your not breathing into it, then rerun the dragon audio setup. Have the mic below your lip not inline.

A USB mic like this one http://www.voicerecognition.com.au/andrea_nc7100.h tm

will help a lot if its a crappy mic/soundcard causing this.

Hope this helps. :o

cheers :D

OK. I'll give that a try.

Something else that I've noticed is that fairly often Dragon will write something totally weird and unlikely but then when I issue the Spell That command there is the correct phrase in the Choose 1 box. It's almost like it's playing a game ... as in .... I really know the answer I'm just having you on. Yes I know!

Also, I do have that Andrea mic and I bought it from Voice Recognition some time back. There is a problem in getting Dragon happy with the mic level in the audio test with this mic. It always shows up red in the mic volume window when I dictate but I was told not to worry about this.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the NC7100 that you have will be fine. Make sure you have it about 3cm from the bottom right/left of your mouth and rerun the audio setup. Most quality usb mics say they are too loud in dragon but they are really fine and excellent to use.

If it still in the red all the time after this call voice recognition and they will give you a replacement no problem if its within the 12 month warranty.

See how you go.

I tried moving the mic and re calibrating the audio and that worked. It passed with a score of 21. Is that OK?

I still have the full stop problem. I think it is worse since I sent the file off to Nuance for custom processing. I think I will try using the word 'period' but that will take some getting used to.

I am now using Dragonpad and that seems to work better than MS Word 2007. I don't get that full stop error.

Yes, i dont know about the nuance optimisations. Ive been giving it a miss. Im having no issues with accuracy or reliability so im not touching it.

Good to hear you sorted out that NC7100, always good to run the audio setup each week.

A score of 21 is spot on but it will vary +4- depending on the day so dont get to focused on the score.

If any changes are made to office 2007 then it will break its link with dragon and you will need to reinstall dragon or do a repair.

cheers
