Now that Macspeech Dictate v1.0 is about to be released in Australia, this thread is to discuss packages, pricing and anything to do with the product in advance of its release.:)

I will try to anser any questions with my limited knowledge at this stage.

I can tell you there are 3 initial products:

1. A crossgrade from Ilisten to Macspeech Dictate. So if you have the Ilisten product then you can order the crossgrade to Macspeech Dictate. This is the most cost effective way of getting Macspeech. Get this crossgrade from: http://www.macsense.com.au/index.php They are very friendly and knowledgeable people who have been in the Mac game for many many years. The crossgrade costs $49-$99 depending on what you have. Ask Macsense for details.

2. MacSpeech Dictate v1.0 with Plantronics Microphone bundle ( Analogue). Looks like the RRP is $299 and can be bought from reputable online stores like voicerecognition.com.au http://www.voicerecognition.com.au/macspeech_dicta te.htm

3. MacSpeech Dictate v1.0 with Parrott VXI USB bundle. Same macspeech software, but with a higher quality microphone and usb digital soundpod to ensure the best accuracy and reliability. The RRP is $399 and you can also pre-order from voicerecognition http://www.voicerecognition.com.au/macspeech_dicta te.htm

Now in the future they may be more packages available, different microphones etc but for now these are the available packages.

I am told that there may be a VERY LIMITED number of products available in the initial release period. Demand looks like being a lot higher than supply until Macspeech settle their production numbers.

That means that unless you pre-order from an approved Macspeech retailer as designated by the official distributor www.macsense.com.au (http://www.macsense.com.au) ( such as www.voicerecogniiton.com.au (http://www.voicerecogniiton.com.au) and others) then you may miss out initially.

Also a warning for those considering buying from overseas ( or ebay) and not from an Approved Australian Retailer. You will not get ANY support or warranty and you may not get the correct Australian accent modeling unless you buy from an approved aussie retailer.

Thats all I have at the moment so post any questions and I will try my best. :D

Thank goodness there is a mac version of dragon. i had in the past tried two other brands and found the experience less than joyful (though from the crossgrade info above i should not have despatched ilisten to the bin some years ago). currently i have a boot camp version vista on my mac which meant that i had to buy windows vista just to use dragon. One thing though I figure Macspeech is based on dragon 9.5 and not the soon to be released 10. Is that right - if so i could still live with that and wait for an upgrade as 9.5 is great - but just need some confirmation as to which version of dragon it is based.

GOOD JOB

Cheers
