Using backup to export user from Standard?

I have Dragon 8 Standard. I've just bought a laptop and would like to install it there too. I am wondering whether I can get around the lack of export user function in Standard by backing up the user to a memory stick then restoring from the memory stick to the laptop?

I cant why its not possible to grab the active user folder and dump that in the new machine and then load dragon. Seems like it would work but its unsupported so you can only try.

Thats why we always recommend the Preferred edition, the export feature makes it very easy and fast to backup/export the user to a new machine or to restore after a hard disc failure.
