What are the new computer hardware requirements for Dragon Naturally Speaking version 10.

Heres the information from www.nuance.com http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/preferred/ sysreqs.asp

Intel? Pentium? / 1 GHz processor (for example, Pentium? M, Pentium? 4), or equivalent AMD? processor - Faster processors will yield faster performance
512 MB RAM
1 GB free hard disk space
Microsoft? Windows? XP (SP1 or higher) Home and Professional, 2000 (SP4 or higher) Windos Vista ( 32bit) ( will NOT work with 64bit Vista or XP at this stage)

Microsoft? Internet Explorer 6 or higher (free download available at www.microsoft.com)

Heres an Australian Retailers take on hardware specs http://www.voicerecognition.com.au/faq.htm#technic al ( also our friendly sponsor)

So I think these new specifications are a LOT more realistic. I'd say it will run OK on the recommended.

I have yet to test version 10, but when I do I'll report on its performance in the real world on a range of PCs.

If you have got version 10 and want to comment on your computer system specification and power running Dragon 10 then please do so in this thread. Im sure theres a lot of potential users who want to hear about your experiences.

I forgot to post my own specifications:

Windows Vista (32bit Ultimate)
CPU: Athlon 64 4800+ (2.2ghz)
Ram: 2000 MB ram DDR400
Soundcard Brand: NC7181USBdigital USB microphone OR Superbeam array microphone
Version and Level of Dragon: Professional version 10
Experiences: nice and responsive. Very fast. I think this has more to do with the RAM than the processing speed.

We recently tested a Windows XP 1.6 GHz atom processor netbook for M-Tech Laptops (http://www.mtechlaptops.com/) and amazingly enough, NaturallySpeaking ran OK in DragonPad, Notepad and WordPad so you can almost get away with Nuance's recommendations but don't do it unless you really have to. You'll find our minimum recommendations are very close to VoiceRecognition.com’s when you look up “computer” in our Quick Tips (http://www.knowbrainer.com/downloads/NatPro_Quick _Tips.pdf).
